Flexibility and Durability:

Unlike rigid plastics, TPU is highly elastic and impact-resistant. It can be stretched, bent, and compressed repeatedly without breaking, making it ideal for parts that need to absorb shock or vibration.

Technical Complexity:

TPU requires more precise settings than PLA. It typically needs a direct-drive extruder and slower print speeds to prevent the soft filament from tangling. While it has excellent layer adhesion, it is more prone to "stringing" and requires careful calibration of retraction settings.

Industrial Versatility:

Because it is resistant to oils, greases, and abrasion, TPU is perfect for functional end-use parts. It is commonly used for items like gaskets, phone cases, drone bumpers, and footwear components where a "soft-touch" feel is required.
